The Bradford House
Here is where we get a chance to tell you a little about ourselves. We may talk about our families, interests, and what
we do in our free time. We try to bring our passion for life to you through our business and this web site. Stephen and
I {Filena} purchased the old farm property in 1998. We worked the first full season, restoring, wall papering, painting, cleaning,
putting new roofs on, sills under sagging out-buildings, furnishing, and all the things that go with saving an old plantation
that hasn't had much attention in years! We knew that we had a historic gem and paid close attention to detail. I have
6 brothers in the town and most all of them were there to help in the initial project. We even had some of their children
step in and offer a hand as well. When our daughter and her husband came to visit, our son-in-law quickly built
a wall we needed in our bathroom on 1st floor. One of our dear customers from Ohio [Jim Gross], a plumber for all the years
of his life, arrived with enough plumbing supplies and knowledge to complete all our plumbing problems. With all the efforts
of family ,friends, and us The Bradford House came to life again.Stephen and I had spent years in the automobile business,
so we were now testing our ability to survive self-employed. We have a service business in Florida, where we have lived
for 22 years. We now spend our summers in Maine at our beloved Bradford house. We have 5 children and 6 grandchildren. Our grandchildren
love spending their summers in the little town of Patten, and playing man-hunt in the 110ft long barn. Stephen and I are working
toward building our business enough that we can spend most of our life in Maine.
